Driven by a passion for design, web, code and all kinds of nerdery, they are working hard to build the most awesome tool for geeks like us. ![]() Zootool is about collecting, organizing and sharing your favorite images, videos, documents and links from all over the internet. They are a small, bootstrapped startup, located in Mannheim, Germany. I use Zootool mainly for collecting images, however when writing this article I found some other outstanding tools with which you can quickly save, and organize, your notes, and thoughts. Ever since then I’ve been a die-hard Zootool fan. Then I started to wonder – is there a tool which would help with organizing bookmarks, pictures, write my notes and access it all immediately from multiple devices?Īfter some time and research I came across Zootool. I remember those times when I had to dig through my browser’s history to find an image I wanted to show my friend. It’s especially true with my web experience. I’m kind of a pedant and I like when everything is organized neatly and quickly available. Most likely you’d forget about it and never open it again. Sometimes you’ve got a great idea and you write it down on a notepad, for example. And then you’re just shoving links there until that list is the length of your screen. If you’re as lazy as I am you’ve probably got something like a ‘Do it later’ folder in your bookmarks. Nowadays the web is enormous and it’s a big advantage to have a place where you can store all your bookmarks, pictures and links, access them anytime, anywhere and be able share them quickly. Sometimes being able to access and find information quickly is crucial. You might even go to 30K or 100K-it’s unlikely, though not impossible, that images that small will be photos you’re looking for, as opposed to graphics associated with documents or help files. If you’re a blogger, journalist, or simply have a desire for more knowledge, you’ve most definitely faced information organization problems. Go back to the field (see Step 8 to show criteria), and then change Name to File Size, Is Greater Than, and enter a small number, like 3 next to the KB popup. I had you leave the Name field in place earlier above where you set up the Any criteria. I’ve found that a lot of apps embed or download HTML-based help files, so many tiny images can be associated with them. You can probably shave down which images you want by excluding very small ones. On my Mac, this search produces 171,499 images, and dragging and dropping that many images can cause the system to rainbow-spin for a long time or even lock up. You can create a smart folder that grabs all images indexed by Spotlight.
